Car rental questions and answers
What documents do I need to rent a car?
Your NIC or passport (or a valid driving licence), a billing proof such as an electricity, water or telephone bill, and one guarantor with their ID and billing proof.
Is there a deposit?
Yes, a refundable deposit is paid when you collect the car. After the car is returned and checked, it is refunded by bank transfer, less any extra km, fuel shortfall or damage.
How do I pay?
By bank transfer only. A small advance confirms your booking; the rent and the deposit are paid when you collect the car. We do not take card payments.
How are rental days counted?
Per 24 hours from your pick-up time. For example, 10 AM on the 5th to 10 AM on the 9th is 4 days. Returning later than your pick-up time adds a day.
How many kilometres are included?
100 km per day. Extra kilometres are charged per km, depending on the vehicle.
Can you deliver the car to me?
Yes. You can collect from Wellampitiya at no charge, or we deliver and pick up anywhere. The delivery charge depends on the location.
Can I rent a car with a driver?
Yes. Choose "With driver" when you check availability. Driver rates depend on the trip and are sent on WhatsApp.
Can I take the car outside Colombo?
Yes, you can travel anywhere in Sri Lanka.
I am visiting Sri Lanka. Can I drive myself?
Drivers with a foreign licence need a Sri Lankan driving permit before driving. If you don't have one, rent the car with a driver.
What is the fuel policy?
You get the car with a full tank (or full charge) and return it at the same level.
Do you rent cars monthly?
Yes. Rates are lower for longer rentals, and from 60 days the monthly rate applies.
